Frequently
Asked Questions
About
the Buena Park Community Chorus
1.
HOW OLD DO I HAVE TO BE TO JOIN THE CHORUS?
You have to be at least eighteen years old.
2.
DO I HAVE TO LIVE IN BUENA PARK IN ORDER TO JOIN?
No. You may reside
anywhere you wish. In fact, we have
members living in Fullerton, La Mirada,
Anaheim, Westminster, La Habra, Placentia, Garden Grove,
Yorba Linda, and Orange, as well as Buena Park.
3.
DO I NEED TO KNOW HOW TO READ MUSIC?
No. It helps, but it
is not required.
4.
WHEN DO YOU MEET?
We rehearse every Monday, starting the second Monday in September,
and go through the month of June.
5.
WHAT IF I CAN’T MAKE IT TO A REHEARSAL?
No problem. There are
always times when something comes up. This
is a “no guilt” chorus.
6.
HOW OFTEN DO YOU PERFORM?
We perform at Silverado Days, Memorial Day, usually the Saturday
closest to St. Patrick’s Day, the
second or third Sunday in December, and the last week-end in
June. We also perform
whenever we are asked.
7.
HOW LONG DO REHEARSALS LAST?
We begin at 7:00 P.M. and go until about 9:30.
8.
WHAT ELSE IS REQUIRED?
Dues are $8.00 a month, and uniforms are required.
9.
DO I HAVE TO BUY THE MUSIC?
No. The chorus buys
the music, and assigned it to you. Your
monthly dues help pay for the music.
10. MOST
IMPORTANTLY, DO I HAVE TO TRY OUT?
Only to find out
what part you sing. And even that
is not by yourself. We want
singing in the chorus to be an enjoyable event with as little stress as
possible.
